Policy Mapping on National Development in Lao PDR

UNV along with other UN agencies is supporting the Government of Lao PDR in preparation of the upcoming Voluntary National Review Report (VNR) 2024 on the national progress of achievement of SDGs. As part of this support, UNV is looking to map the national development policies in education, health, disaster risk reduction, justice, women’s affairs and others to identify and analyze where and how volunteerism is integrated. This mapping and analysis will be used for the upcoming stakeholder consultation on VNR as well as UNV’s analysis on the volunteer contributions to SDGs.

To that end, we are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers through this assignment. The Online Volunteer will need to find the relevant policies, check whether any mention of volunteerism has been integrated into the policy, develop a table or tool to add all the policies reviewed and add text on volunteerism included, as well as identify towards which SDG the policy contributes to.

We are looking for 2 experienced Online Volunteers who, under the supervision of the UNV Regional Integration Specialist will support the mapping of national policies on development (including health, education, women affairs, youth, justice, disaster risk reduction and others). More specifically, the Online Volunteers are asked to: - Determine objective and data sources for the policy mapping task - Identify relevant policies for analysis - Conduct analysis of text on volunteerism or volunteers integrated into the specific policy - Map data based on mapping tool

Candidates should have previous experience in data/policy mapping, analysis and be skilled in the use of standard methodologies for data analysis. A degree related to data/policy analysis or other related fields is considered an asset.
