Overview

Develop advocacy products and improve humanitarian engagement in Myanmar.

You have:

  • Experience in advocacy or INGO Forum coordination in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience working with NGOs or equivalent organizations such as UN, DPKO missions, diplomatic community, donors, or national governments.
  • Understanding of principled humanitarian assistance.
  • Knowledge of legal and policy frameworks relevant to humanitarian action.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of the Myanmar context.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

NRC is looking for a Policy Manager for the INGO Forum in Myanmar. If you are interested in developing advocacy products, and improving coherence, coordination, and effectiveness of Humanitarian Assistance and Civil Society Advocacy and Policy Engagement in Myanmar, then this is the role for you! This position is open to Internal Candidates only.

What You Will Do

  • Advocacy and Common Positioning: Operationalising the INGO Forum advocacy strategy.
  • Representation: Support strengthening of the INGO Forum Secretariat voice.
  • Advisory and Information Sharing: Ensure dissemination of information among Members.
  • Program Management and Organizational Development.

What You Will Bring

  • Advocacy, or INGO Forum, coordination experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • NGO experience, or equivalent (UN, DPKO missions, diplomatic community, donors, national governments, and others).
  • Principled humanitarian assistance understanding.
  • Legal and policy frameworks knowledge.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Myanmar context knowledge.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

  • 12 months contract duration.
  • 20% travel, approximately.
