Overview

Assist in evaluating and supporting police administration activities

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences or similar fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in programme development, Community Policing, Human Rights, Civil Society.
  • Fluency in English required; Working Knowledge level.
  • Familiarity with processes of UN agencies and/or IFIs as an asset.
  • Strong communication skills.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Project Officer (Police Administration), the national UNV will support Police Administration team with the following tasks:

  • Assist the Police Administration team to Support assessment the police administration of back-office PD administrative capacities through interviews with the MOI and PD personnel, observational visits to the PDs, and review of internal/technical documents and relevant SOPs with consideration of gender issues
  • Support evaluation of administrative challenges to effective community-oriented policing
  • Support the development of an M&E plan to monitor implementation of the activates
  • Support related to the planning, facilitation, coordination and management of the project’s activities using implementation plans as a guide to achievement of results
  • Assist in the development of training material, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines and Terms of Reference (ToRs)
  • Support with translation of various documents into Pashto and Dari
  • Draft agendas, correspondence, memos, letters, recommendations, and other project related documentations and correspondences, as appropriate
  • Proper filing system is maintained both in hard and soft
  • Other related responsibilities as requested by the Project Officer (Police Administration)

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent
