IIEP was established in 1963 as an integral part of UNESCO. It supports ministries of education around the world and other key actors to plan and manage education systems through its programmes of training, technical assistance, policy research and knowledge sharing. The Project Management Office (PMO) in IIEP-UNESCO defines and maintains standards for programme monitoring and project management within the Institute. It is a source of documentation, guidance and metrics on the practice of project management and execution. It is in charge of the continuous development, implementation and upgrade of information systems at IIEP that support program planning, implementation and reporting and ensure compatibility or inter-operability with UNESCO’s core systems. **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of IIEP and the direct supervision of the Project Management Office Lead, and within the framework of the Institute’s Medium-Term Strategy, the Project Management Office Assistant will have the following duties and responsibilities: Long Description ---------------- - Review the existing annual GB (GB/4) reports and data sources, in particular Planview data (IIEP’s project portfolio management software). - Support in collecting and compiling data to produce IIEP’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using a various set of tools (excel, PowerBI or PowerQuery, Planview). - Ensure that relevant extractions from existing data sources are conducted in an efficient and effective manner. - Make suggestions of new statistics (and relevant visuals) to include in activities reports. - Carry out consistent and accurate verification of data to be presented in the GB/4 report. - Create compelling graphs and visuals based on the data including suggestions for best suited types of graphs depending on the data to be presented. - Keep a clear record of all statistics and graphs for later use by IIEP Director’s Office. - Produce methodological guidelines for data collection and KPI calculation in the context of the preparation of IIEP’s next Medium-Term Strategy. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education*** - Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information technology, information systems, computer sciences, data management, business and management, economics, public administration or development. ***Work Experience*** - Minimum two (2) years of experience in the field of information system or project and programme Management. - Working experience with Project Portfolio Management Software. ***Skills and Competencies*** - Good knowledge of data management tools Microsoft Excel and Power BI. - Good data collection skills. - Ability to design visuals. - Ability to work as part of an international team in a multi-cultural environment. - Good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to adapt to changing circumstances. ***Languages*** - Good knowledge of English or French and working knowledge of the other language. **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- UNESCO’s salaries consist of a base salary and other benefits and entitlements which, where applicable,may include 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.For more information about UN salaries, benefits and entitlements, please consult this [ICSC booklet](https://icsc.un.org/Resources/SAD/Booklets/sabeng.pdf?r=0827899) **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that candidates must complete an on-line application and provide full and accurate information.
