Work Location Unarmed military observers camps in Western Sahara

Duties and Responsibilities Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of MINURSO Chief Engineer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the plumber will be responsible to carry out but not limited to the following tasks; - Carry out plumbing works and (related electrical connections) for the installation, maintenance and repairing of the water supply systems, water and sewage pumps, water pipes, sewerage network, sewage treatment plant and other allied equipment. - Participate in the installation of both waste water treatment systems and Water Purification Systems. - Prepare, plan and carry out scheduled periodic and emergency maintenance services on all the installations and equipment related to the supply, distribution, storage of water as well those related to collection, disposal and treatment of wastewater. - Ensure that the water supply and sewerage work installations meet the safety standards in accordance with international codes and regulations. - Provide lists of material and spare parts for water pipes, sanitary fixtures, pumping equipment, wastewater treatment system and purification water treatment system, electrical and control panels as well as necessary tools and equipment, - Perform surveys and prepare material quantities and specifications - Monitor the UN owned tools/equipment and material inventory - Adhere to all UN and international safety standards and applicable codes, - Identify the best methodologies to address development issues related to plumbing works and suggests the best fit for related methodologies. - Perform other related duties assigned by the Chief Engineering Officer and the Water and Sanitation Unit Supervisor.

Qualifications/special skills Possession of high school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in the field of water and sanitation, plumbing works, or other related field from a Technical school, in maintenance and installation of water supply and sewage collection and treatment trade. Minimum of six years of experience in the field of plumbing works, maintenance of water distribution systems, sewage collection and treatment systems.

Languages Official working language in the mission is English. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Arabic / or Spanish language is an asset .
