Company Description

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Job Description

Introduction

Great technology needs great people! Are you an experienced Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), solution architect and/or application engineer with a demonstrated passion for delivering digital engineering solutions? Are you motivated by transforming and digitalising engineering processes, implementing digital twins and at ease taking on a driving role in projects and efforts implementing these capabilities? Are you interested in being part of a team providing an integrated engineering platform managing some of the world’s most complex equipment used by thousands of engineers and technicians? Would you like a career in an exciting international environment at the forefront of modern science? Then join an ambitious and dynamic team of engineers and IT professionals in the Engineering Information Management group. Take part!

The group provides and supports software solutions for CERN’s engineering community, comprising of both on-site engineering teams and external collaborating partners. One of the group’s main activities is the implementation, evolution and continuous support of CERN's PLM platform, used to manage design data and technical documentation for the entire Organization. We are currently in the challenging process of replacing our existing landscape of silo applications by a modern PLM platform. This new PLM will become one of the centrepieces for managing the digital thread of engineering data. In addition to the PLM activities, the group provides many other engineering software solutions, including Enterprise Asset Management, Work Permitting as well as multi-CAD system support on a CERN-wide basis. This integrated portfolio of applications contains information about millions of equipment, many being part of unique installations with very long lifecycles. In total, over 10’000 users depend on the software solutions provided by the group.
