Result of Service- Schedules of detailed job plans and estimates - Day-to-day updates and monitoring of logic networks of project activities, critical paths and work schedules in MS Project or similar scheduling programme - Daily management of the master project schedule and its constituent multiple schedules - Project progress reports including tracking, analysis, reporting and follow up on meetings - Updates to the project dashboard - Establishment of work schedules and management of each phase of construction - Records of the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled - Evaluation reports on actual construction progress - Provision of regular schedule updates for various projects - Development and filing of summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, critical path analyses, near-term tasks work, performance variances, etc. - Reports on scheduling problems and courses of action taken - Management and filing of accurate project records - Filing schedule reviews - Performance reports on hired Schedulers and staff doing scheduling work - Tracking and closure of Task Orders, Calls and Tickets related to scheduling work

Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of Chief Engineer, the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the development of detail job/activity plans, duration, estimates, and loading said information into the scheduling platform. The planner/scheduler is also responsible for directing the day-to-day operation of chart for all construction and installation projects and creating a logical network of activities and ultimately a critical path of work and schedule, and updating as required, based on the coordinator or planner's reported progress or mission priority tasks. The planner/scheduler will - Work closely with Designers and Project Managers/Site Managers, Site Engineers and Contractors to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of Design/Build construction projects using MS Project - Develop the detail works schedule of specific projects to be implemented by contractors and monitor/track progress milestones and identify/highlight the delays reasons - Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base line, status, and perform measurement baseline. - Must be able to build and maintain accurate and up-to-date complex construction schedules working with multiple calendars - Establish work schedules and manage each phase of construction to meet overall project schedule within budget. - Identifies and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates. - Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority based resource allocations, performance variances. - Provides support to teams in assessing/documenting delays and impacts, alternate work plans. - Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. - Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including dashboard maintenance. - Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting. - Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems. - Maintain accurate records/paperwork and weekly reports - Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews - Visit sites to analyze the feasibility of project and prepare work plan/schedule - Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (4 years university degree) in civil/construction engineering is required.

A minimum of Seven (7) years of progressively working experience in the field of infrastructure planning & scheduling of engineering projects and construction projects supervision is required.

Experience in horizontal works utilizing heavy engineering equipment is desirable.

Experience in the operation of Microsoft Project is required.

Sound knowledge of schedule systems, principles and practices is required.

Working knowledge of computer scheduling programs and department computer system is desirable.

Experience with the United Nations Common System is desirable.

A technical or vocational certificate in PRINCE2 is highly desirable.

Languages Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of second official UN language is added advantage.
