Result of Service The Individual Contractor must deliver photos of key events and/or side events as assigned by UNIC as soon as the event is finished. The photos and videos must be cataloged in the platforms given access by UNIC. The photos must be maintained in archiving systems. The Individual Contractor must be made available for further development of multimedia projects.

Duties and Responsibilities The Individual Contractor will report to the Deputy Director and with overall supervision of the Director. The Individual Contractor will work with UNIC when required to visit different sites and provide professional videography and photographic coverage. Within delegated authority, the Photographer/Videographer Specialist will be responsible for the following duties: - To provide digital color photographic coverage for promotional materials, website, publications, social media, and campaigns during the contract period. - To provide photos with high resolution and the best quality. - To provide high-resolution digital image files and transmit them to the UNIC account in compressed format. - To provide high-quality videos for social media platforms, websites, You Tube and other uses. - Support the office on photography and videography, including post-production upon request.

Specific requirements for photo and video submission: - Deliver videos of high quality - The videos should be compressed in H264 format with an .MOV or .MP4 extension - Deliver photographs at the highest resolution as jpeg or raw files (minimum requirements: 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches) and in color - Provide links for downloads of both photos and videos taken - An optimized editing of 30-50 of the best photos from each assignment, with individual captions embedded in the metadata. In addition, the entire take of all the original images should be delivered following the assignment - All digital photographs must contain complete caption information in "file info" and a separate word format captions list. Caption information should consist of: date, place, subject names and brief description of the situation photographed - Supply all photography and videography equipment, professional digital cameras and a range of accessories, and agrees to provide rough edit selections of best images, with complete caption information - Cover a range of related subjects with different components of events/activities, as well as general themes - Provide different visual perspectives (close-up, medium range, long distance), in both horizontal and vertical formats

Qualifications/special skills Bachelor's degree in Media Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Administration, Economics, Political Science or any other related field. A professional certificate from a film school is an asset. - A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in photography/photojournalism and/or video documentary; - Experience in producing documentary films, TV programs, and short format films preferred; - Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts through photo shooting and videos; - Ability to create ideas for storyboards and scripts; - Prior experience working with United Nations teams. - Familiarity with video/photography and social media communications of other development organizations (e.g. UNICEF, World bank is an asset) - Collaboration and teamwork skills. - Effective communication and presentation skills. Knowledge and skills in photography, videography both pre-production and post-production; lighting for video, online video publishing and file transfer skills, publishing on social media sites, Final Cut Pro editing skills (or other professional editing software i.e., Avid, Premiere, etc.), video formats and video file conversions, converting video files from multiple formats.

Have own camera and other videography and photography equipment.

Languages Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.
