Result of Service The IC shall provide and transmit, under the advice of the Communication Officer, a selection of the best high-resolution images (inclusive of all key moments) and video files at the end of each day of work. Resize optimized images, if necessary, for transmission. Files should be sent either via Wetransfer or Dropbox to a contact person that will be identified as soon as the photographer/videographer is operational.

Duties and Responsibilities The IC will provide photographic and video coverage, as directed by the Communication Officer, of assigned events, meetings or other photo/video reportage, for immediate use on UNCT websites and social media accounts, as well as sharing for use by relevant UN agencies, media and the public.

The photographer and videographer will be recruited as a retainer and local consultant to create a comprehensive photo gallery and audiovisual product/s of the various UN activities in Saudi Arabia.

The purpose of this assignment will be to increase the visibility of the UN in Saudi Arabia and enhance its image/narrative and increase visibility with the target audience specifically as well as the wider general public.

Qualifications/special skills A high school diploma is required.

All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of one year of demonstrable prior experience in photographing and recording similar projects/activities, with portfolio provided upon request is required. Ability to deliver products according to the specified technical requirements is required. An experience in Photography and videography production is required.

Languages Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.

For this position, fluency of Arabic is required, and knowledge of English is desirable.

Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
