You have:
- At least 10 years of photographic experience is required.
- Experience working with OCHA and humanitarian organizations is required.
- Experience covering international stories/topics in humanitarian settings is required.
- Proven track-record of work being published in international media is required.
- Solid understanding of humanitarian advocacy and communication is required.
- Knowledge of the country and the region is required.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
- Fluency in another UN official language is desirable.

Result of Service
The consultant will produce high-resolution photographs and stories of the utmost technical quality to be used to strengthen OCHA's advocacy and communications on the crisis and the needs of the people in Sudan.
Work Location
Tawila. Travel may be required to Tawila and Elgeneina.

Duties and Responsibilities
In compelling images, the consultant will tell individual stories of people affected by the crisis in Sudan and the role of OCHA and humanitarians in their response to the crisis. The photographer will make sure to highlight the resilience of people portrayed, especially women and girls, and vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities. "Reportage" visual storytelling with captions & quotes: The consultant will generate professional photojournalistic/documentary imagery focused on affected people. In compelling images, the photographer will tell the story of an individual/ a family/ a community, capturing moments that allow audiences to empathize and engage with the subjects' lives and experiences. This form of visual storytelling includes captions and firstperson quotes, amplifying the narrative. When photographing, make sure there are enough details about their lives in order to make them relatable. Emotional content resonates well with audiences and promotes further sharing. When possible, try to show the impact individuals, OCHA and our partners can make.

Languages
