Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan focusing on urban and camp interventions addressing health, protection, economic development, and early childhood development for Syrian refugees and host communities. IRC through its health program has been providing essential Primary and Reproductive Health (RH) services to Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities in Jordan.

Job Overview/Summary:

The pharmacist dispenses drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provides information to patients about medications and their use .advise the health team on the selection, dosage, the record-keeping of pharmaceuticals consumptions.

Major Responsibilities: The pharmacist will be specifically responsible for performing the following activities:

- Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to the multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies. - Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. - Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. - Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. - Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections. - Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.

Position Reports to: Senior Health Officer (in charge)

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education: A certified/registered pharmacist

Work Experience: Approximately 2 to 4 years of working experience as a pharmacist

Demonstrated Skills and Proficiencies.

- knowledge of the pharmaceutical products and skills in maintaining the records for medicines - Knowledge of policies, regulations, and procedures for maintaining pharmacy/medical warehouse - Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to both oral and written inquiries. - The ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures

Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic, basic knowledge of English

Licenses or Certifications: Certified Pharmacy university degree.

Working Environment: The position is based in Zaatari camp.
