Duties and Responsibilities This position is in the Clinical Governance Section of the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health, Office of Support Operations, Department of Operational Support. The Clinical Governance team is responsible for development and implementation of Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Standards. The incumbent will be reporting to the Senior Medical Officer, Clinical Governance Section.

The Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health provides expert healthcare management and OSH services to all UN secretariat entities (Field missions, Offices Away from Headquarters and Economic Commissions), the New York based agencies funds and programs, as well as providing strategic leadership of whole-of-system medical issues through the UN Medical Directors Network.

The Patient Safety Data Analyst/Program Manager is responsible for supporting the organization’s overall goal of becoming a high-reliability organization by facilitating patient safety and quality improvement initiatives designed to reduce error and improve patient outcomes. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Medical Officer, the consultant will: - Assist in delivery of a culture of safety survey to field medical hospitals - Conduct data analysis by organizing and developing reports and graphs from the Culture of Safety survey - Develop dashboard reports of data derived from the Culture of Safety survey in Power BI using the framework provided by CGS. - Create reports and refresh data quarterly of patient experience data from the Hospital - Work with appropriate team in CGS to assist in the development and deployment of a reporting system for Clinical Adverse Event Reporting System. - Assist in delivery of Root Cause Analysis and Science of Safety training. - Assist in the creation of a clinical adverse event reporting system through: o Coordinating implementation of mode of survey administration o Testing system prior to training o Coordinating and disseminating communication and training o Developing instructions on training and using the system o Coordinating data analysis by organizing and developing reports and graphs - Develop and track project plans including scope, timelines and milestones for a clinical adverse event reporting system - Coordinate team meetings, provide timely and thorough documentation of meeting minutes, meeting action items and effective follow through/implementation on action plans. - Create annual report summarizing program implementation (clinical adverse event reporting system). Reports and all materials developed by staff members and consultants remain exclusive property of the CGS and United Nations following the consultancy. All work is confidential

Qualifications/special skills Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor’s Degree Required; Advanced university degree in medicine or Master’s Degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, and/or statistics or closely related field Preferred - At least -7 years of prior work experience in healthcare. - Experience with project or program management is preferred. - Experience with analyzing healthcare data is preferred. - Experience with patient experience survey and/or culture of safety survey. - Experience using statistical software such as STATA or R - Demonstrated experience and skill in creating Power BI data visualization and ability to present data in a logical and concise manner. - Sound analytical and problem-solving skills. - Experience working in international organizations is an asset. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required. Prior consulting experience is an asset.

Languages Languages Required: English required; second UN working language is an asset.
