Manage partnerships with Ukrainian L/NNGOs and improve engagement.
You have:
- Minimum of three years of progressive professional sub-grant management and/or L/NNGO coordination experience in a multi-sector working environment
- Experience working as or with L/NNGO partners in Ukraine or similar emergency settings.
- Experience supporting L/NNGO partners to identify specific support needs/response capacity gaps and identify opportunities for INGO support.
- Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Fluency in Ukrainian, both written and spoken. Able to independently review complex Ukrainian-language documents such as organizational policies and provide English-language summaries for team review.
- Proficiency in English for use within IRC team.
- Must have a proven track record of proactively identifying and communicating potential problems with/on behalf of L/NNGO partners and proposing solutions.
- Highly resilient and comfortable working in an insecure setting with restricted personal freedoms.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the UA Partnership Coordinator (UAPC), and in close coordination with Technical Coordinators, the Partnerships Manager will ensure that the IRC’s engagement with Ukrainian L/NNGOs and grassroots actors is responsive to their respective needs and capacity – with a focus on improving the IRC’s Ukrainian-language materials. Specific responsibilities include:
Identify and Expand Ukrainian Language Partnership Resources
• Identify publicly available Ukrainian-language humanitarian resources (humanitarian response.info, sister agency websites, etc.);
• Screen these resources for quality/consistency with IRC policy and compile into resource database;
• Receive Ukrainian-language reports from partners (i.e. protection monitoring reports) and prepare English language summaries for Response Team;
Partnership Development
• Support UAPC, Technical Coordinators, and others with Ukrainian translation during partnership co-design sessions;
• As delegated by UAPC, lead on PCPM and partnership development with partner L/NNGOs, particularly those that prefer to coordinate in Ukrainian;
• Other partnership development support as requested by UAPC or Poland PC subject to availability.
Mapping and Capacity Building of Grassroots CSO Networks/Actors
• Adapt response partnership tools/questionnaires for purpose of engaging smaller, local networks and/or activist groups including translation into Ukrainian;
• Supported by UAPC, lead engagement and relationship building with grassroots actors with a priority focus on expanding access and service delivery, as well as exploring non-financial partnerships (ex. technical collaboration, resource sharing, community context monitoring, etc.), and acting as a representative voice for such actors in IRC decision making.
• Ukrainian language resource database
• Simple Ukrainian translation of IRC partner-facing documents
• Needs-based engagement strategy for grassroot CSO networks/actors focusing on non-financial forms of assistance
• Ad-hoc support to UAPC on partnerships
UA Partnerships Officer will be expected to maintain the confidentiality of partner information considering information security concerns of the current operating environment. S/He will be expected to adhere to all response-level information security protocols.
The deployed staff will adhere to all emergency response security procedures as established by Team Leader, Safety and Security Coordinator and/or anyone thusly delegated.

Able to independently review complex Ukrainian-language documents such as organizational policies and provide English-language summaries for team review. • Proficiency in English for use within IRC team. • Highly resilient and comfortable working in an insecure setting with restricted personal freedoms. • Commitment to the IRC’s mission, purpose, and values.
