Overview

Support resource mobilization efforts and enhance partnerships for South-South cooperation.

You have:

  • Postgraduate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Management, Finance, Development, other social sciences or related areas.
  • Knowledge of the work of ESCAP, including programme and project management is required.
  • Experience in data analysis and relevant IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office are required.
  • Experience with working in advancing resource mobilization is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of other official United Nations languages and other languages of Asia and the Pacific region is desirable.

Result of Service

Consultancy fee US$44,451 (US$4,939/month) with payment at US$14,817 based on three Deliverables. 1. USD 4,939 upon delivery of Deliverable 1 2. USD 4,939 upon delivery of Deliverable 2 3. USD 4,939 upon delivery of Deliverable 3 - Successful organization of consultations with traditional donors; - Successful outreach to non-traditional donors including substantive consultations; - Successful organization of the eighth Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation including reporting and dissemination of all relevant materials; - Support the organization of the Emerging Development Partners (EDP) network meetings and/or workshop; - Successful updating and maintenance of South-South Cooperation Connector; - Successful updating and maintenance of SPMD Gateway.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Chief, Capacity Development and Partnerships Section of the Strategy and Programme Management Division and the direct supervision of the Partnerships Officer, the Consultant is to work in advancing resource mobilization efforts and South-South cooperation portfolio of the secretariat. In particular, the Consultant will: 1. Resource mobilization and partnerships a) Support organization of annual consultations with traditional donors; b) Support organization of ad-hoc meetings with partners, including the development of outreach materials; c) Support the communication, development of the project proposals, implementation of projects under Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) Trust Fund; d) Support the tracking of the partnership agreements (donor dashboard); e) Support the development and updating of partnership platforms, including the ESCAP partnership webpage, for outreach and engagement; f) Support project and partnership data analysis for all subprogrammes. 2. South-South and Triangular Cooperation a) Support coordinated and effective implementation of the decisions of the seventh Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation; b) Support the conceptualization and organization of the eighth session of the Asia-Pacific Directors General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation, including substantive and communications preparations; c) Support the organization of the Emerging Development Partners (EDP) network meetings and/or workshop, etc; d) Maintain and further develop the AI-powered South-South Cooperation Connector, including data management, content curation, and coordination with the IT team to improve system performance and user functionality; e) Support the conceptualization and implementation of other South-South cooperation activities, as required; 3. Knowledge Management and Communications a) Support the coordination and dissemination of Results-Based Management (RBM) training materials, including promoting staff participation; b) Support updating and maintenance of SPMD Gateway and other CPS-related reference and communication materials, including original content creation; The consultant may work remotely and attend in-person at the duty station upon request. Deliverables: Deliverable 1: Development of additional RBM training module on indicator formulation; Deliverable 2: Projects and partnership data analysis (2027); Deliverable 3: Development of a step-by-step manual for projects and partnership data analysis.

Qualifications/special skills
