Overview

Lead the partnership origination and selection process for P4G.

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Minimum of 7 years full-time work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in Food and Agriculture, Energy, Water, Cities, or Circular Economy.
• Experience managing finance or investments in start-up or scale-up projects.
• Familiarity with financial analysis, business plans, and start-up enterprises.
• Superb interpersonal skills and ability to work collegially.
• Demonstrated experience creating original presentations and speaking at professional conferences.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops effectively.
• Experience working in cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments.
• International experience, especially in one of P4G's partner countries, preferred.
• Commitment to P4G Partnership’s mission regarding climate issues.
• Fluency in English and Spanish in written and oral communications required.
• Existing work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

This position is hybrid requiring a few days per week in Mexico City, Mexico; WRI Mexico Office. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

About the Program:

P4G - Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 - contributes to green and inclusive growth in low- and middle-income countries by helping early-stage climate businesses become investment ready and supporting national climate platform connections in food, water and energy systems. Hosted by World Resources Institute and funded by Denmark, the Netherlands and the Republic of Korea, P4G partner countries include Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa and Vietnam. P4G provides grants and technical assistance to early-stage climate businesses within a broader partnership to improve their investor readiness. All partnerships are aligned to national priorities as defined in the NDCs and coordinated by each of P4G’s nine government-led P4G National Platforms. The partnerships and the National Platforms engage together on sector specific policy and regulatory changes to enable business growth. P4G captures and mobilizes knowledge around these public-private pathways in order to increase the flow of global climate finance to local climate businesses.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Director of Communications & Engagement, you will lead the origination and selection process for P4G's partnerships. You will manage the partnership selection process to enable P4G to fund and support the strongest, most impact-driven partnerships. You will refine the process with each call by incorporating internal and external feedback. You will be the primary lead in coordinating with the external Independent Grants Committee. You will set up decision-making meetings and ensure IGC members have the necessary documentation to make a considered funding decision. You will be a part of the Partnerships teams, and you will work across all other P4G teams to manage a whole-of-team approach to the origination and selection process. You will lead this process for P4G both externally and internally and will be responsible for outreach and connections across P4G’s and your own broad network to source partnerships. You will work at the cutting edge of multi-sector public private partnerships that are advancing global green growth.

What will you do:

• Lead and manage the P4G partnership origination and selection process through to grant award
• Lead the coordination of meetings and materials for the Independent Grants Committee who is the final funding decision-making body of P4G
• Originate partnerships & coordinate across multiple regional and country level partnership originators
• Manage independent external investment advisor or other consultants as needed
• Lead partnership impact analysis working with a team of sectoral, regional and engagement professionals
• Conduct original financial, business, or economic analysis of the partnerships, providing this advice to the partnership, the Hub, National Platforms, and others on an as needed basis
• Present on topics related to P4G and our partnerships at multiple events and in multiple media, including: internal and external webinars, conferences and meetings
• Designated Hub project manager for select partnerships
• Maintain the learning culture of the P4G Hub within the P4G partnerships team
• Manage new partnership analysis throughout the origination and selection processes including setting and maintaining all timelines and keeping staff across multiple teams on track
• Coordinate across a group of Project Managers (PM) who will take the originated partnerships through the analysis process to determine which will receive P4G grant funding and support services
• Maintain, update, or create tools to enable the management and coordination of the Hub’s origination services
• Designated Hub project manager for select partnerships
• Maintain the learning culture of the P4G Hub within the P4G partnerships team

What will you need:

• Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Experience: You have minimum of 7 years full-time work experience
• Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in one or more of our technical sectors is desired, these include: Food and Agriculture, Energy, Water, Cities, and the Circular Economy
• Experience managing finance or investments in start-up or scale-up level projects and public-private partnerships and/or experience in project or program management for start-up and scale-up level projects and public-private partnerships
• Familiarity with financial analysis, business plans, and starting up new enterprises
• Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity
• Demonstrated experience creating original presentations and speaking at professional/technical conferences, forum, etc
• Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently facilitate workshops
• Experience working in challenging, cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments
• International experience strongly preferred, especially in one of P4G’s partner countries
• Superb interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collegially with others and with the highest standards of integrity
• Commitment to P4G Partnership’s mission, values, and approach regarding climate issues
• An appetite for adventure, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a keen sense of principled development
• Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish in written and oral communications required
• Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization
