You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, social sciences or other related field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years required experience in communications-related activities
  • Excellent knowledge of social media and how to use it for strategic communication is required.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UN Environment's mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UN Environment Programme's Communications Division communicates UNEP's core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide. Duties and Responsibilities UNEP's Communication Division is looking for a dynamic self-starter to support outreach and engagement for key campaigns and editorial content. Under the supervision of the Head Writer, the consultant will be responsible for the effective and efficient performance of the following duties: • Identify and support recruitment of influencers for World Environment Day and related campaigns to maximize the reach, engagement and targeted outreach; • Produce multimedia content in support of UNEP campaigns; • Develop partnership for UNEP campaigns; • Identify opportunities for UNEP’s science and content.

Qualifications/special skills
