1. Purpose of the Consultancy

The consultant will support supply chain management system for the WHO Somalia country office for quantifying, forecasting, distributing, and monitoring the drugs procurement, inventorization, distribution and monitoring of critical supplies for WHO’s scaled-up operation for drought/floods in Somalia.

On 20 May 2022, WHO declared the current drought and food insecurity situation in the Horn of Africa as a Grade-3 emergency. This was done following a 3-level call aimed at assessing the health impact of the food insecurity and drought crisis in the Horn of Africa Region and the current public health risks, identifying urgent critical response needs, and agreeing on the magnitude of organizational support needed across the three levels of WHO.
