This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

UN Women (UNW), grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

Under the supervision of the Operations Associate, the Operations Clerk supports the Office Operations by performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Operations Clerk promotes a client, quality, and results-oriented approach.

The Operations Clerk works in close collaboration with the programme and projects staff and the Operations team to ensure consistent service delivery.

Under the direct supervision of Operations Associate, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

• Arrange travel and hotel reservations for staff and official visitors • Process requests for visas, residencies and UN laissez Passer • Provide administrative support to UNW events such as conferences, workshops, retreats. • Provide administrative support to property management. • Maintain filing system ensuring safekeeping of confidential materials. • Monitor and maintain office stationery supplies including maintenance of stock list of stationery, distribution of stationery and keeping a log of distribution, as required; • Maintain files and records relevant to office premises and related maintenance; • Support in processing and finalizing SSA recruitment and extension • Support in reviewing consultants monthly payments; • Receipt of shipments, customs clearance arrangements, preparation of documents for UNDP shipments (received/sent), arrangements for shipments.
• Preparation of routine correspondence, faxes, memoranda and reports in accordance with CO SOP • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut Lebanon. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
