How can you make a difference?

  • Supporting services in the functional areas of operations: budget, financial management and reporting, facilities management, administration, supply and logistics management, information and communications technology, human resources, and safety and security.
  • Supporting a review of business needs for the office, to propose viable solutions aimed at value for money.
  • Supporting the fundamentals of ICT management, information security and controls;
  • Assisting supply and logistics strategies and interventions to meet programmatic needs while ensuring Value for Money (VfM).
  • Supporting the management of office premises and facilities with a specific focus on inclusive accessibility, eco sustainability and common premises;
  • Facilitating business transactions processed by GSSC from a perspective of Efficiency, Performance, Risk Management and Fraud prevention
  • Supporting the country office during external and internal audit reviews, contributing with responses to audit observations and monitoring implementation of recommendations.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have...

Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in the following subjects:

  • Business management
  • Financial management
  • Accounting
  • Supply Chain
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • International Business
  • Project management

A minimum of 6 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience in one or more of operations management areas including budget; financial management and reporting; facilities management; administration; supply and logistics management; information and communication technology; human resources. A bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of 6 years of experience.

Experience in a UN system agency, large private or public company, or experience working in a developing country and/or humanitarian/ emergency context is an asset. Experience in supporting successful client-oriented work units is an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is required.

Proficiency in English. Knowledge of the local language is a requirement.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.

This is position will be based in Kyiv, but based on the evolution of the situation in the country the staff member will be expected to move to a different location within Ukraine, including Kropynutiski, Dnipro, Kyiv, Vinnytsa, Lviv and Ushgorod cities.
