The incumbent will also be involved in the coordination of projects within and across the education sector as well as under inter-sectoral platforms. Within this context, the incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities. Long Description ---------------- 1- Develop, operationalize and maintain an operational and logistical framework to effectively assist the implementation of programme activities of Education Unit; 2- Assist the Operations Officer in managing the overall functioning of the operation team of the Education unit and maintain the quality of support provided by the team; 3- Prepare contracts for services, contracts with individuals, and implementation partnership agreements for the Education unit by assisting programme staff to developed complete terms of reference (TORs), draft contracts based on the TORs, liaise between vendors and programme staff, and monitor outputs delivered in a timely manner; Long Description ---------------- 4- Assist in the management of procurement of the Education unit by assisting the programme staff of the unit to adhere to the standard operation procedure of UNESCO and liaise with the administration unit; 5- Assist in maintaining Education unit internal expenditures control mechanism by ensuring contract are processed, matched, completed and transactions are correctly recorded and filed; 6- Work with programme teams under the Education unit to ensure contracts are matched to correct budget codes, deadlines and vendor details; 7- Provide operational support and logistical coverage of meetings, workshops, conferences and events held by the Education unit; Long Description ---------------- 8 – Assist Education unit personnel, consultants, and vendors, as necessary, associated with their travel planning, management and reporting; 9- Develop and maintain an effective filing system for Education unit; 10- Provide oversight on administration and logistics for cross-cutting activities for the programmes of Education unit; and 11- Carry out any other tasks that may be assigned by the Head of Education Unit and Programme Management Team. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education** - Completed secondary, technical, or vocational school education. **Work Experience** - A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in operations, human resources, administration, finance, or related area. - Experience in international organizations or United Nations agencies. **Language** Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English, in addition to proficiency in Pashto and/or Dari. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- 1. First-level university degree or specialized training in human resources, administration, or finance. 2. Good interpersonal and communication skills, strong service orientation, and ability to deal efficiently with partners at different levels. 3. Good team player and readiness to work independently. 4. Proficiency in office productivity tools and online collaboration tools. 5. Sensitivity to cultural diversity. 6.
