BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Annual Country Report (ACR) are annual reports WFP produces to inform its donors how resources for any given project were used, and the results obtained during the reporting year. It is also a key corporate tool used to improve results monitoring and reporting for corporate accountability and

learning and to ensure strengthened linkages with WFP’s Strategic Objectives.

Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the Reports Consultant will assist in producing the ACR for the Senegal Country Office, in particular, to ensure that the project is reported on and published online for donors and internal use, by the strict deadline of 31 March.

The consultant will also be carrying out other OIM functions such as the review of Senegal country briefs, and will also be carrying out capacity development-related tasks such as contributing to the organizing training and tools for improved quality of reports.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. As a member of the Country Offcie Partnerships and Communication team, the ACR Coordinator would guide the review process of the ACR.
  2. Familiarize self thoroughly with the ACR guidance, including the two new corporate platforms, Standard Project Report Intelligent Next Generations (SPRING) and Country Office Tool for Managing Effectively (COMET);
  3. Review the general checklist and familiarize self with technical checklists: school meals, food assistance for assets (FFA)/Resilience & Livelihood, Nutrition & HIV/TB, Cash-based transfers (CBT), Vulnerability Analysis & Mapping (VAM), Donor Relations (DR) & Partnerships, Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR), Protection & Accountability to Affected Populations (APP), Gender, Supply Chain, Resource Management;
  4. Ensure the ACR Calendar is strictly followed by following up with both CO and RB technical unit review focal persons;
  5. Analyse the outcome and output indicators between baseline data, previous year and the current reporting year;
  6. Review with a critical eye on general food and nutrition security and specific activity data, and ensure that that narrative is consistent with the tables;
  7. Ensure that all sections, i.e. Country Context and WFP Objectives, and Country Resources and Results, are compliant with the new ACR guidance and template, and that the ACR properly highlights WFP contribution to the food and nutrition security of the country;
  8. Review the beneficiary, tonnage and dollar amount, and other figures in all tables, and flag any inconsistencies that may either be an IT or human error;
  9. Ensure that all components of the ACR are of optimal quality on grammar, format and general content, and make corrections or suggestions as needed;
  10. Guide the liaison and seek advice from the relevant RB technical units when the Senegal ACR under review do not comply with the technical standards;
  11. Advise the relevant country office head of Units on any corrections to be made, and ensure that the deadlines are met for the ACR.
  12. Perform regular OIM tasks as may be required and/or assigned such as the review of Country Brief for Senegal Country office.

  15. The ACR Senegal are successfully completed in good quality meeting the deadlines
  16. Participated in the documentation of the 2022 ACR lessons learned exercise
  17. All other assigned tasks performed successfully QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Education:

    Higher education (BA/Masters) in Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Development, or other Social Science fields

    Experience:

    1 to 3 years experience in OIM and reporting, partnerships

    Knowledge & Skills:

    Interpreation of data and information for report analysis, editing, and writing

    Languages:

    English (C level), French (C level)
