You have:
- A university degree in Communications or a related field from an accredited institution with at least three years of relevant experience is required; alternatively, completion of high school or secondary education with five years of relevant experience is acceptable.
- Two years of relevant professional experience in multimedia and communication.
- Strong background in media and communications tools with an emphasis on communication campaigns is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in blogging software and social media platforms preferred.
- Ability to work independently but with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines.

Established in 1951, International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a related organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
The Staff Development and Learning (SDL) team, part of the Integrated Talent Management Division (ITMD) under the Department of Human Resources (DHR) of IOM, manages programs to meet the learning and professional development needs of IOM staff.
The Online Volunteers for Communications will play a key role in supporting SDL initiatives by writing and developing engaging content that amplify the impact of SDL initiatives. Working closely with other volunteers, they will help ensure cohesive and effective messaging across platforms. This assignment also offers a meaningful opportunity to gain hands-on experience in internal communications within a UN agency, enhance cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute to learning and development efforts that support IOM's global workforce.
Reporting to the head of SDL, the selected candidate will develop and design communication content and strategies for SDL/ITMD and related projects, as specifically indicated below.
IOM is currently looking for 3 Online Volunteers to develop and design communication content and strategies for SDL/ITMD and related projects. Specifically, 1 Online Volunteer under this assignment will support in copywriting will be performing the tasks below: - Draft and edit promotional and awareness-raising content for various communication channels used in IOM, such as, but not limited to: internal social media platforms, print (e.g., flyers, brochures), speakers notes, promotional material, publications, email, annual reports, screensavers, display monitors, the Executive Office Weekly Report, among others. - Coordinate virtually with the Department of Media and Communications on recording activities related to ITMD initiatives, for example, recording messages from members of the Executive Office. - Coordinate virtually with the Executive Office’s speech writers and/or Special Assistants for memos, recording scripts and talking points of members of the Executive Office. - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders within the unit/division/IOM to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
