The Opportunity

Save the Children Bangladesh is seeking a dynamic and skilled Media and Communications Officer to join our team in Cox's Bazar. This role will involve working closely with the Senior Manager- Media and Communications and Technical Specialist- Communications to support media content gathering trips, photography, videography, and translation tasks for our emergency response and development projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in documenting program success stories, producing press releases, managing social media content, monitoring media coverage, and providing translation services. If you have a degree in journalism, media relations, or related fields, with experience in journalism or media relations, along with strong communication skills in Bengali, English, and the Chittagonian dialect, we invite you to apply. Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a journalist, press officer, or in interpretation roles. Proficiency in photography, audio, and film skills, including experience with relevant software. • Experience in handling social media accounts and basic knowledge of social media analytics. Previous experience working in the humanitarian sector or with international NGOs. • Skills in photography, videography, and social media management is must. Familiarity with relevant software for media content creation and editing. • Ability to take initiative in the field and handle high-pressure situations with local and foreign journalists and staff. • Experience working in a multicultural environment with strong interpersonal and intercultural sensitivity. • Native speaker of the Chittagonian dialect. Excellent spoken and written skills in standard Bengali and English. • Honours Degree or equivalent in journalism, media relations, English, communications, or related areas.
