Contract

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

To provide accounting policy guidance and income/awardand budgetary management and support across the SEA Region. Ensure effectivefinancial controls exist and are properly managed. Ensure income is managed appropriatelyfor all sources of funding and advise budget centers on all aspects of incomeand awards management. Monitor the general ledger and sub ledgers and takeaction where necessary to correct errors. Coordinate the monthly and annualfinancial closure processes at country and regional level.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the overall guidance of the Budget and Finance Officer (BFO) and direct supervision of National Professional Officer, Finance, the incumbent performs a range of standardized tasks to support Finance functions such as:

  • Main tasks of the position specifically related to Staff Health Insurance (SHI)Handling all incoming mail& medical claims of the SHI sub-unit.
  • Routing to concerned team members after entering in respective e-logs maintained, namely SHI claims, Hospital bills, etc.
  • Photocopying/scanning of medical claims/bills for all categories of participant in medical plan(s), i.e.LTS, ST staff, retirees, surviving spouses including participating dependents, and tasks in respect of other capacities, namely Consultants, SSAs, JPPs and Interns.Review simple claims, codingand input in the HIIS maintaining integrity and accuracy of claims.
  • Review and code simple claims from Hospitals for review by the NPO, in charge.Maintaining the archives/filing system(s) including electronic filing system on the SHI shared drive.
  • Collecting and distributing documents of the SHI sub-unit.
  • Retrieval of claims/files inthe SHI sub-unit.Fill in the absence(s) of staff in SHI sub-unit.Perform any other related task as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of Secondary school education Desirable: Training in computer applications including excel. Knowledge of simple accounting.

Experience

Essential: At least two years' experience in secretarial/clerical/administrative work. Desirable: Experience in WHO, other international organization or a UN Agency would be an advantage.

Skills

A good understanding of WHO proceduresUnderstanding of WHO automated accounting system (GSM) and accounting principles in general would be an assets.Knowledge of entering and retrieving data in simple Excel spreadsheets would be desirable.

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at INR 496,317 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
