Job Overview/Summary:

The Nurse will be responsible for the understanding triage, which is a method of prioritizing injuries based on medical need. A nurse must have the ability to make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions. This position reports to Health Services Officer – Ar-Raqqa.

Responsibilities:

- Time management is crucial in this job. Along with triage, emergency nurses must quickly ascertain the following information from incoming patients: Identify the medical problem, Document medical history, check for any allergies and current medications, Obtain height, weight, body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure.

- Other responsibilities include:

1. Moving patients 2. Taking blood samples 3. Cleaning and bandaging wounds 4. Administering medications and maintaining proper supplies of medical equipment. 5. Filling and maintaining Health records. 6. Update the clinic databases daily and submit the weekly reports. 7. As with other health care professionals, nurses are expected to comply with protocols, procedures, and safety policies of a Mobile medical Unit.

Staff Performance Management, Learning & Development

- Hire, supervise, and build the capacity of team members in relevant technical and management competencies. - Develop and implement remote management capacity building approaches to build the strengths the teams’ teams in Syria. - Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting annual performance objectives, providing regular and timely positive and constructive performance feedback, and providing documented semi-annual performance reviews. - Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions. - Approve and manage time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage; ensure monthly, accurate timesheet submission and carry out probationary reviews. - Hold high-quality meetings with each direct report on a regular and predictable basis, minimally monthly. - Provide a measurable development plan including on-the-job learning with the aim of strengthening technical capacity, exchanging knowledge within the team and providing guidance on career paths. - As required, identify staff performance issues and work with Human Resources to document and address these in accordance with the National Staff Employment Policies. - Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions. - Promote and monitor staff care and well-being. Model healthy work-life balance practices. Support appropriate interventions in response to identified staff care needs of both national and international staff. - Look for opportunities to support staff in their career growth, where appropriate. As part of succession plan and nationalization goals, identify, train and develop capability and capacity of national staff to successfully transition role and responsibilities, by the end of assignment.

Qualifications

- Relevant higher national diploma or university degree or other advanced technical qualifications in nursing - Experience with a reputable organization, in a similar role or in COVID-19 isolation area would be an advantage. - Approximately Two years of experience working in nursing. - Effective communication - The ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for patients is always essential. - Ability to lead, train, supervise and facilitate. - Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. - The ability to work as a member of a team is essential. - Ability to communicate in local language and English will be an asset.

- Highly collaborative and resourceful; ability to establish positive working relationships with senior level management and all other partners to maximize cooperation and productivity. - Curiosity, a desire to continually learn and develop are a must. - Analytical ability in creating effective solutions to complex matters while adhering to labor laws and internal policies.

Language/Travel:

Arabic is required and English is an advantage

Travel: 100% to field sites in 20% as well as attending regional and global workshops and meetings.
