Additionally, we are actively engaged in dialogue and collaboration with Egypt, Indonesia, the West Africa region, and Latin America and the Caribbean region through our partnership with UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education. UNESCO is also working on the establishment of in-house capacity-building programme for the UQP initiative. In addition, in collaboration with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), a Joint Statement on Transforming Higher Education in Emergencies was launched in November in Doha, Qatar at the World Innovation Summit for Higher Education. Thus, as part of our commitment to the EAA, UNESCO is diligently preparing for the roadmap following the Joint Statement including 1) concrete actions addressing the challenges addressed by the Joint Statement and 2) strengthening advocacy among the international community. The Associate Project Officer will therefore support the work of the UQP team daily, support coordination for field implementation in all countries and capacity-building exercise; support the UQP mapping exercise in new countries and relevant desk research; coordinate with the communication team on relevant communication items; support the organisation of meeting, events, and conferences etc., and other activities when necessary. Long Description ---------------- Under the direct supervision of the project lead, the incumbent will be in charge of the following areas of work: \- Support the coordination of the creation of capacity building/training for the UQP recognition methodology. \- Support the coordination of the evaluation activities. \- Support the communication strand for the UQP and other relevant activities, e.g., webinars, workshops etc. \- In collaboration with respective FO, conduct relevant mapping exercises for the potential UQP implementation. \- Provide desk research and other relevant analytic tasks, e.g., working papers etc. \- Provide content support on the organisation of all types of events relevant to the initiative. \- Provide other relevant activities of the programme when deem necessary. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education** Master’s degree and/or equivalent in education, political science, or international relations. **Work experience** Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience supporting project management implementation, of which preferably 1 year acquired at the international level.
