Salary range – 10290,00 – 18620,00 MDL gross for a full-time position, discussed during the interview, depending on the qualifications of the candidate;

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. Position Overview:

The News and Social Media Assistant, under overall supervision of the Communication and Advocacy Manager, will provide support to PIN Moldova Communications and to the Programmes Teams. Editing, writing, and translating content will be an important part of the role. In this role, they should understand quality communication and visibility materials, information sharing, as well as development of materials corresponding to different target groups. They should have good communication skills and strong attention to detail. Ultimately, the goal of the News and Social Media Assistant will be to help create effective content and support clear communication of PIN messages across all channels.

Availability for travel within the country up to 50% of the time it’s a must.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates content for PIN Moldova’s website and social media (articles, press releases, posts, success stories, etc.)

  • Collects stories and photos covering PIN Moldova activities in coordination with project teams (based on interviews with people and families supported by PIN Moldova)

  • Assists the communication team in planning and posting content on PIN Moldova Facebook page
  • Contributes to the design of communication materials for PIN, including newsletters, presentations, reports, infographics, promotional materials, etc.
  • Helps with organising public events (project launching events, conferences, roundtable meetings, press tours, etc.)
  • Assists the programme staff with ensuring donors’ visibility in the field in compliance with donors’ Communication and Visibility guidelines
  • Assists the communication team in updating online platforms for storing content
  • Translates/ Adapts content from/to English, Romanian, and preferably Russian
  • Participates in training sessions and team meetings as required by the Communication and Advocacy Department
  • Adheres to all PIN policies and guidelines and complies with PIN security protocol and Code of Conduct while performing its responsibilities.

Requirements:

News and Social Media Assistant

• Students in the last year or recently graduated.

• Good written and spoken command of Romanian.

• Good command of Russian and English is an advantage. Digital Media Talent

• Familiarity with social media and digital tools.

• Basic design skills for creating graphics (i.e. Canva). Communication Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Writing and Editing Skills: Ability to craft compelling content.

News and Social Media Technical Assistant

Education Degree in communication, journalism, language studies, literature, or a related field, or a track record of relevant experience.

• Proficient written and spoken command of Romanian, Russian, and basic proficiency of English.

• Proficient writing skills, preferably in Romanian and Russian. Research and Monitoring

• Capacity to gather and analyze information from various sources. Communication and Collaboration

• Communication & Public Relations background - 2-year experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Willingness to work with diverse teams. Digital Media Proficiency

• Familiarity with social media and digital tools.

• Knowledge of Canva at a medium user level (an advantage). Adaptability and Flexibility.
