The digital media and graphic designer will play a critical role in the communication of UNICEF supply and logistics operations and achievements around key global moments – including World Humanitarian Day and World Children’s Day – helping increase quality output on UNICEF Supply Division’s external and internal digital channels and reaching target audiences, including partners, donors and the general public, with engaging content in advanced media formats such as motion graphics, stop motion and data visualizations.

Scope of Work:

  • Production of motion graphics, stop motion videos and animations.
  • Video shooting and editing.
  • Production of infographics, social media cards, posters and panels and other graphics.

How can you make a difference?

Work Assignment Overview - please quote in USD per deliverables.

Timeline: End of August.

  • Production of World Humanitarian Day Package -1 video of 1 to 2.5 minutes, 1 infographic and 1 poster.
  • World Water Week package - 1 motion graphic of 2.5 minutes and 3 graphics.

Timeline: End of September.

  • Back to school package - 1 video of 1 to 2.5 minutes, 3 graphics and 1 poster.
  • Day of the girl package - 1 graphic
  • Mental health package - 1 motion graphic of 2.5 minutes.

Timeline: End of October.

  • World Children’s Day package - 1 video of 1 to 2.5 minutes and 3 graphics.
  • Toilet Day package - 3 branding elements, including posters or panels and 1 motion graphic of 1 to 2.5 minutes.

Timeline: End of November.

  • Pneumonia Day package - 1 video of 1 to 2.5 minutes and 2 graphics.
  • International Day of Disabled Persons(AT technology focus) package - 1 motion graphic of 1 to 2.5 minutes and 2 graphics.

Timeline: End of December.

  • Update of Supply Division slide deck.
  • Design of SD staff e-mail signature.
  • End-of-year #UNICEFthanks supply and logistics partners package - 20 graphics and 1 motion graphic of 1 minute.
  • Education Day package - 1 motion graphic of 1 to 2.5 minutes.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree, (Bachelors, Master’s or higher) in Multimedia, communication or graphic design.
  • Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required: Motion graphic, digital illustration, video editing, photography
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Financial quote for the consultancy which must include: the total consultancy fee (broken down into deliverable rate in US Dollars and number of consultancy days), travel costs (if applicable, with details of the economy class ticket price) and administrative fees (if applicable). The fees should be inclusive of all taxes. 3. CV or P 11 form (which can be downloaded from our website) 4. At least 3 reference contacts from previous supervisors 5. Additionally provided samples of previous work in past roles will be considered an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
