**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Education Sector (ED) Duty Station: Baghdad with regular field visits to other governorates Job Family: Education Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : From 7 to 11 months Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 16/03/2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION** -------------------------------- Under the supervision of the Director of UNESCO Office for Iraq and the direct supervision of the education specialist and the Project Officer for Education, the Individual Training Specialist shall fulfil the role that falls in the framework of the project “System Building and Capacity Strengthening of Ministry of Education (MoE) and its Sub-National Directorates of Education for Effective Delivery of Quality Education Outcomes” (Education Management Information System (EMIS)). In this regard, the Individual Training Specialist will attend training sessions on the EMIS at the General Directorates of Education (GDoE) in the participating governorates. He or she will train the master trainers in each GDoE who will be responsible for training the school administrators at the participating schools. The Individual Specialist will supervise and support the master trainers in their training activities with the school administrators to ensure a smooth learning experience for the trainees. He or she shall report any observations, problems, and/or issues they encounter while conducting their tasks. The Individual Specialist will report and escalate issues in the tracking system and liaise with the EMIS developers on addressing them. As part of the project “System Building and Capacity Strengthening of Ministry of Education (MoE) and its Sub-National Directorates of Education for Effective Delivery of Quality Education Outcomes”, UNESCO is undertaking the design, development, and rollout for an Education Management Information System (EMIS) to automate the operations at the nine (9) general directorates of education (Baghdad Rusafa/3, Baghdad Karkh/1, Basrah, Najaf, Qadissiya, Thi-Qar, Missan, Muthann, and Anbar). **MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** ------------------------------------ In the framework of this Project, under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Office for Iraq and the direct supervision of the Project Officer for Education, the Individual Training Specialist shall: • Present EMIS lectures in classroom and/or online training sessions, as requested. • Answer questions from EMIS Master Trainers and Users as they relate to the EMIS application. • Collect functional requirements from the MoE and pass them to the EMIS development team. • Report and escalate support issues to the EMIS Call Center at the MoE. • Escalate critical support issues from the EMIS Call Center to the development team through the Jira issue tracking system. • Review and make suggestions about user documentation and manuals. • Recommend topics for articles to be included in the knowledge base **DELIVERABLES AND TIMEFRAME** ------------------------------ The training specialist shall submit the following deliverables: • Monthly Progress Report (MPR) on the tasks and deliverables, including attendance sheets of all training sessions. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE** ----------------------------------------- **A. Education** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. **B. Professional Experience** - At least five years of proven relevant experience Working as a Training Specialist, Software Quality Assurance Engineer, or Technical Support Analyst. **C. Languages Skills** - Fluency in oral, reading, and written English and Arabic is required. **D. Technical Skills** - Skilled in using the following tools: Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, HappyFox Help Desk System, and Jira Issue Tracking System. **E.
