From October April 2021, UNESCO started implementing the project: Ending Stigma and Discrimination of Persons with Disability, with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty and end stereotypes that leave behind persons with albinism, particularly from accessing labor market. From October 2021, UNESCO started a 2,5 years project: Protection and Promotion of Human Rights of Persons with Albinism in Mozambique: Maputo, Nampula, Zambezia and Tete provinces, which aims at reducing the cases of attacks, violation, violence and abduction of persons with albinism nationwide and particularly in those target provinces, particularly in Zambezia, Tete and Niassa. The accomplishment of UNESCO mandate on human rights, social protection and inclusion, which falls under Social and Human Science Sector (SHS), demands a National Programme Officer to coordinate the implementation of all current and future programmes or projects under the SHS sector and other related activities, and mobilize resource for future activities under the sector. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall supervision of the head of office, the National Programme Officer will be responsible for implementing the activities of the following projects: i) Ending stigma and discrimination of persons with disability, and ii) Promotion and protection of persons with albinism. In particular he will: - Support the Office development of partnerships and resource mobilization strategy; - Support to the working group on Albinism within the framework of inclusion; - Follow-up the implementation of the recommendations of the conference on Albinism; - Provide assistance for the finalization/implementation of the national and regional workplans and the development of related networks. - Advise the Country Representative on relevant areas within the mission of UNESCO on human rights, inclusion and social protection, and - Coordinate with SHS sector, the implementation of projects/programmes in the Office. This includes ensuring the design, implementation and monitoring and reporting on all matters pertaining to the sector.
