The incumbent shall contribute to the preparation of the inputs for the UNESCO Medium-Term Strategy (C/4), the Programme and Budget (C/5) and related work plans from a national perspective as well as contribute to the 'Delivering as One' exercise in the field of culture. The incumbent also contributes to the implementation of initiatives related to UNESCO's Global Priorities (Africa and Gender Equality), priority groups and transversal thematic areas, such as Culture and Education, Culture and Climate Change, Indigenous Peoples, Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and Youth. In particular, the successful candidate will: Long Description ---------------- In particular the incumbent will: **Programme Delivery in the countries covered by the Office** - Contribute to identifying, designing and implementing activities in the field of culture in the countries covered by the Office in line with the strategies and priorities of the Culture Sector in the framework of the Medium-Term Strategy (C/4) and Programme and Budget (C/5), in particular for the promotion, preservation and safeguarding of tangible and intangible heritage, the promotion of creative industries, and the advancement of the linkages between culture and development, as well as peace and security. - Contribute to the implementation of all UNESCO Culture Conventions and their associated protocols in the countries. In close cooperation with Headquarters, contribute to the overall delivery of the Office's programme objectives and intersectoral working modalities. **Technical Assistance and Capacity Building** - Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of Regular Programme activities and projects funded by voluntary contribution in the countries covered by the Office. - Provide professional expertise and technical advice and assistance in line with the Office's strategy and countries’ needs to the local authorities including the Ministry of Culture and other national cultural institution. - Develop, plan and implement research and analysis on policy topics and issues pertinent to Major Programme IV in the countries covered by the Office. - Support national capacity-building in the field of culture through relevant training and activities.
