Provide quality technical assistance for Covid19 vaccine coordination

You have:

  • First degree in a health-related field is essential.
  • Master's level degree in public health or other related fields is desirable.
  • At least 2 years' experience in public health with a focus on immunization programming and evaluation is essential.
  • Previous work experience in vaccination campaigns is desirable.
  • Expert knowledge of spoken and written Portuguese language is essential.
  • Skills in working with Ministry of Health, other line Ministries, and technical partners is essential.

1.Goal

To improve population immunity against Covid19 and its various variants of concern through improved access to, and demand for Covid19 vaccines

2.Main objective

To provide quality technical assistance to the Provincial Directorate of Public Health (DPSP) for the effective coordination and management of all resources (HR, financial, logistics) for reaching at least 70% of population with Covid19 vaccine by June 2022

3.Specific objectives

1.To support the coordination of efforts at provincial and municipal levels towards attaining the objectives of the national plan

2.To develop with additional support from Central level international consultant, provincial C19 vaccination campaign macro plan with clear indications of resources needs and allocation and timelines for the vaccination campaign

3.To coordinate with additional support from Central level international consultant, the organization and conduct of provincial and municipal micro planning workshops

4.To coordinate the finalization of municipal level micro plans

5.To support and coordinate the timely disbursement of C19 vaccination campaign resources to the municipalities and monitor the efficient use of resources

6.To strengthen with additional support from Central level international consultant, existing monitoring and evaluation (M & E) mechanisms at the provincial level, including a C19 vaccination monitoring dashboard, and at least weekly meeting of stakeholders

7.To support the mobilization of additional resources from govt, technical partners and donors

8.To coordinate across partnership, ongoing efforts to address declining C19 vaccine acceptance by population

9.To facilitate timely collection, analysis and transmission to the national level, of vaccination coverage and vaccine management data after due clearance by DPSP

4.Location and duration

The incumbent will be embedded in DPSP to work with the Provincial EPI Supervisor under the supervision of the Director, Provincial Directorate of Public Health (DPSP) with an initial duration of six (6) with possibility for an extension

Duty Station: Benguela/Cabinda/Cuanza Norte/Namibe/Moxico

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

5.Educational Qualifications:

Essential: First degree in a health-related field

Desirable: Master’s level degree in public health or other related fields

6.Experience:

Essential: At least 2 years’ experience in public health with bias for immunization programming and evaluation

Desirable: Previous work experience working vaccination campaigns

7.Skills/Knowledge:

Skills in working with Ministry of Health, other line Ministries and technical partners is essential

8.Languages and level required (Basic/Intermediate/Expert):

Expert knowledge of spoken and written Portuguese language is essential.
