OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

To reduce sickness and death caused by Tuberclosis (TB) dramatically reduce the burden of TB by 2015 inline with the Millennium Development Goals and the Stop TB Partnership targets, by guiding the National TB program in policy develpment and technical operations, helping health care staff working in TB control to develop the technical and managerial skills to implement, evaluate and improve TB control, monitoring and surveillance of TB.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

- To support NTP in implementation ofGFATM activities.- Assist in promoting mainstreaming of NTP with country office programs and regional technical advisors.- Attend related meeting, seminars, workshops as requested by WR and report on the outcomes of such gathering.- Initiate periodic progress reports and assist the NTP on monitoring and evaluating progress.- Maintain contacts and exchanges with international orgranization and liaison between WR's office and various implementing partners of GFATM for which WHO is the sub-recipient.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: University Degree in Medicine or Public Health Desirable: A Master Degree in Public Health

Experience

Essential: At least 2 years of progressive experience in related field Desirable: Experience in working in the area of TB control and prevention with an experience in WHO to have knowledge of its rules, regulations, procedures and practices

Skills

- Broad knowledge of Stop TB strategy , policies and interventions.- Ability to work well under pressure.Ability to adopt and working harmoniously with people from divers cultural setting and backgrounds- Be able to take iniative and make suggestion.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 41,710 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
