OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

To provide equitable access for children and adults to existing and new vaccines, and other interventions that lead to reduction of mortality of people in Sudan.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The candidate will perform the following:1. Monitoring the following MOH planning and micro planning activities : --> Building the national capacities on district micro planning--> Developing and updating the district micro plans--> Updating , implementing and evaluating implementation of the Country Multi Years Plan (cMYP)2. Strengthening routine immunization:--> Assess the vaccination coverage by locality/Community and identify the bottlenecks and barriers for improving routine immunization--> Provide technical advice to the MOH to develop national plan for addressing the barriers for strengthening routine immunization, improving coverage and ensure equity --> Build the national capacities needed in MOH for strengthening routine immunization3. Surveillance, monitoring and evaluation:--> Provide technical advice for improving immunization data quality and accuracy of the reporting system of EPI at all levels --> Collaborate with the MOH to build the national capacity for surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases, including data management of the sentinel sites surveillance networks4. Introduction of new vaccines:--> Contribute to the improvement of evidence-based decision on introduction of new vaccines -->Participate in preparing for new vaccines introduction, including, development of guidelines and training materials as well as implementation of training and orientation sessions for health providers at all levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: University degree in medicine Desirable: Master's degree in public health.

Experience

Essential: At least 2 years' experience in EPI program. Desirable: Experience in UN or NGOs setting is an asset.

Skills

1. Broad knowledge of EPI strategies and policies and interventions.2. Ability to work well under pressure.3. Proven ability to take initiatives and make recommendations.4. Demonstrated ability to assess and analyze date and to develop plans to address barriers.

REMUNERATION

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 41,710 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
