You have:

  • Completed secondary level education required. First level university degree preferred.
  • 5 years previous experience in logistics/administrative functions.
  • Some experience in research assistance.
  • Previous experience in the UN an advantage, and knowledge of protocol, travel and procurement will be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy - Word, Excel, Power-point, etc., and good knowledge of Atlas/PeopleSoft would be an asset.
  • Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English; knowledge of other official UN languages is desirable.

Contract

This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education.

The salary for this job should be more than 2,303 USD.

This is a recruitment in the general service category, as such, applicants must be nationals of Venezuela or have a valid working permit in Venezuela, in order to be considered.

Within the framework of the humanitarian response in Venezuela. The incumbent performs logistics, administrative, budgetary, and field support for humanitarian GBV and SRH programmes in the Venezuela Office.

You would be responsible for:

  • Collect quotation for goods and services, evaluates bids and submits them for review and selection by the Representative or any other authorized official or committee, as per UNFPA emergency procurement procedures.
  • Coordinate the customs clearance processes of SRH supplies and Dignity Kits
  • Prepares distribution plans according to the SRH and GBV programs
  • Coordinate the transfer of supplies, ensuring suppliers, routes, prices, insurance, etc. for distribution
  • Assist in the distribution plan of emergency services and goods in cooperation with other office staff.
  • Arrange the storage of humanitarian goods as necessary, follows-up and reports on inventory management, follows-up transfer of assets to partners and distribution forms;
  • Coordinate the evaluation of national suppliers regarding quality and compliance with administrative requirements
  • Coordinate the evaluation of the improvement requirements in health centers and the performance of the work by the contractors
  • Attending the Logistics cluster;
  • Perform any other duties, as may be required by UNFPA CO.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Completed secondary level education required. First level university degree preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5 years previous experience in logistics/administrative functions;
  • Some experience in research assistance;
  • Previous experience in the UN an advantage, and knowledge of protocol, travel and procurement will be an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Computer literacy - Word, Excel, Power-point, etc., and good knowledge of Atlas/PeopleSoft would be an asset;
  • Good writing and communication skills.

Languages:

Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English; knowledge of other official UN languages, is desirable.
