This is a recruitment in the national officer category, as such, applicants must be nationals of Venezuela in order to be considered.
Within the framework of the humanitarian response in Venezuela, the leadership role of UNFPA in the Area of Responsibility for Gender-Based Violence (GBVAoR) is a key position in the context of the Global Protection Sector. The National Manager GBV AoR have under her/his responsibility strengthen the capacity of the partners of the humanitarian system to address gender-based violence in emergencies, as well as services, information and referral systems for survivors of gender based violence.
You would be responsible for:
- Coordinate the AoR, ensuring the achievement of the agreed products with its members in the AWP.
- Manage Local coordinators of GBV AoR at field level where the Humanitarian Country Team decided to organize a Territorial Coordination Centre.
- Insure the integration of GBV into the national humanitarian strategy, as well as HRP and HNO.
- Represent to GBV AoR in meetings of the Protection Cluster and in meetings conducted by OCHA, as well as in other relevant meetings, including those convened by the HCT.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other Cluster such as health, food safety, education, nutrition and others, to ensure the integration of GBV-related action in their sector plans and to advocate for joint awareness.
- Develop, update and monitor the mapping of actors, the institutional response capabilities in GBV prevention and response.
- Promote the design of a national reference route for the response in GBV.
- Support the design of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work with GBV AoR members to develop an inter-institutional capacity development strategy in GBV .
- Provide technical support and information for the development of advocacy documents and relevant policies to address the GBV in humanitarian context.
- Promote knowledge of national laws and policies that inform the action to address GBV strategies.
- Perform any other duties, as may be required by UNFPA CO.

- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the areas of Gender Equality, Sexual and Reproductive Rights and gender based violence.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English; knowledge of other official UN languages, is desirable.
