About the Program:

P4G - Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 - contributes to green and inclusive growth in low- and middle-income countries by helping early-stage climate businesses become investment ready and supporting national climate platform connections in food, water and energy systems. Hosted by World Resources Institute and funded by Denmark, the Netherlands and the Republic of Korea, P4G partner countries include Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa and Vietnam. P4G provides grants and technical assistance to early-stage climate businesses within a broader partnership to improve their investor readiness. All partnerships are aligned to national priorities as defined in the NDCs and coordinated by each of P4G’s nine government-led P4G National Platforms. The partnerships and the National Platforms engage together on sector specific policy and regulatory changes to enable business growth. P4G captures and mobilizes knowledge around these public-private pathways in order to increase the flow of global climate finance to local climate businesses.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the P4G Director of Communications, you will support Colombia’s P4G National Platform, including outreach to key stakeholders in government and the private sector, support for existing P4G partnerships in country, and the development of potential innovative private-public partnerships aligned with P4G’s funding criteria and the National Platform’s priorities for climate targets and sustainable development. You will support P4G in ensuring consistency of activities to improving the green growth enabling systems with the engagement of government and private sector leaders across P4G ODA eligible countries. You will be supported by the P4G Global Hub.

What will you do:

National Platform Liaison (30%):

  • Actively engage Colombia NP co-chairs and stakeholders including government ministries (core economic/development/ planning ministries), private sector (business associations), and if possible, entrepreneurship network
  • Prepare relevant documents for NP to engage more deeply with partnerships and that will provide necessary background in case of National Platform staffing transitions (eg, MOUs, recommitment letters, briefing materials for new country Global Advisory Council members and/or focal points)
  • Develop and implement Colombia National Platform Implementation Plan in coordination with NP and Hub including leading on activities such as sector-specific workshops, business matchmaking sessions in country and partnership site visits
  • Utilize the P4G Platform to further the climate finance agenda in country

Lead the NPs Community of Practice (30%):

  • Coordinate with P4G National Platform Liaisons (NPLs) in other partner countries to ensure consistency in activities leading to NPs contribution to improving the green growth enabling systems in P4G countries
  • In collaboration with P4G MEL Manager, work on improving the processes and formats to collect data for reporting and decision making
  • Collaborate with NPLs and P4G MEL manager in improving and sharing timely reports to National Platforms
  • Collaborate with NPLs to address NPs engagement challenges
  • Drive knowledge and best practices sharing within the NPLs including developing and executing an internal learning curriculum

Partnerships (20%):

  • Oversee P4G partnerships active in country, including convening regular update calls with partnerships, coordinating with Global Hub and NP on any issues, and preparing periodic update reports
  • Active acceleration of at least 2 priority current partnerships and NP meeting with all current partnerships at least once. Convene meetings with Partnerships, including facilitating introductions to relevant ministries and hosting workshops
  • Develop network to source partnerships that are a P4G fit
  • Originate 2-4 high potential prospective partnerships and support concept note development
  • Facilitate P4G advice on partnerships even beyond P4G funding, and connect to alternative investors and/or funding sources

P4G Engagement (20%):

  • Organizing and contributing to global high-level events that are important to P4G and NP priorities
  • Support NP engagement in P4G Board meetings, Summit and relevant events
  • Coordinate P4G Mission Trips to country

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in relevant field, i.e. business, finance, international development, political science
  • Experience: You have minimum of 5 years full-time work experience engaging with government officials
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder groups on policy or regulatory reform, as well as experience working with international development and/or finance agencies
  • Experience working in sustainable development initiatives or sectors related to climate change, ideally, clean energy, water systems and resilience, food loss and waste and climate smart agriculture
  • Experience working in challenging, cross-sectoral, multi-cultural, fast-paced environments and ability to work independently are a must
  • Experience working in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC)
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish in written and oral communications required.
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
