The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is looking for a qualified National Internship for Social Policy to be based in UNICEF office in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The duration of this assignment is 3 months, starting as soon as possible.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of social policy, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the LSIS III processes' follow-up by planning meetings and ensuring all the necessary logistics are in place.
  • As part of the celebration of International Children's Day, November 20, 2023, support the organization of child poverty events, including the participation of children at the event.
  • Support the section to capture notes of meetings, including those with governments.
  • Support the dissemination strategy for the public finance for children, child poverty and climate change study.
  • Support the organization of the LSIS III dissemination events, including regional consultations.
  • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Results/Expected Outputs:

• All minutes of meetings internal and external available on the SharePoint

  • Follow up plans for the post LSIS data collection, including dissemination available
  • Plans to engage children in LSIS dissemination, vice governors child poverty commitment and child poverty and climate study dissemination available

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g., economics, social science, public administration, and any other Discipline relevant to the position.
  • Proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, - Working Knowledge
  • AND - Laotian (Mandatory), Level – Fluent

Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
