You have:
- University degree in Economics, Statistics, Rural Development, Social Sciences or related technical field.
- At least five years of professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in humanitarian assistance and international development.
- Working knowledge of English and Arabic (oral and written) is required.
- Iraqi Nationality.
Organizational Setting
FAO's office for Iraq is responsible for developing, promoting, overseeing and implementing agreed strategies for addressing countrywide food, agriculture and rural development priorities in Iraq. It develops and maintains relations with the relevant Ministries at country level. This position is based in the FAO office in Basra, Iraq. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall guidance of the FAO Representative (FAOR) and the direct supervision and technical guidance of International Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and in close collaboration with colleagues from Programme, Policy and Communications.

Tasks and responsibilities
- In close consultation with the Programme, M&E and Communication units regularly collect, analyze and share implementation data to maximize the internal exchange of information and contribute to programme planning, implementation and reporting.
- Compile, analyse and disseminate FAO information products for internal and external audiences (e.g. dashboard, reports, briefs, charts, infographics, response highlights, advocacy materials), in collaboration with the Programme, Policy, M&E and communication units.
- Represent FAO in relevant Information Management forums and collaborate with partners (UN mainly) to improve the consistency and timeliness of information disseminated.
- Respond to various inquiries and information and data requests internally and externally.
- Lead and develop an action plan for the deployment and maintenance of FAO-Iraq Beneficiary Management Information System (MIS), including a main database and its integration with beneficiaries’ registration.
- In close collaboration with relevant units, develop a mapping of the workflows for registration of beneficiary data and tracking of delivered assistance, identify and support the implementation of any required changes
- Develop quality guidance and training materials and ensure proper training of FAO staff and partners on the use of beneficiary MIS (i.e. during beneficiary registration and verification).
- In close collaboration with IT and procurement, identify and support timely procurement of required equipment and coordinate the setup and remote management of implementing partners devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones and fingerprint scanners) for beneficiary registration and verification
- Facilitate mobile data collection, form development and data management, and the implementation of remote data collection exercises;
- Support the building of relevant dynamic dashboards and tools that can be utilized to structure data analysis as well as present data for both internal and external audiences;
- Develop a sound strategy for harnessing secondary data through the use of support systems such as Geodata and GIS tools, and support other FAO staff engaged in these activities;
- Design of a georeferenced database able to contain essential information at village and household levels, and produce set of GIS displays and interactive maps that will enable different users access to layers of information and produce tailored reports.
- Perform other related duties, as required.

- University degree in Economics, Statistics, Rural Development, Social Sciences or related technical field;
- At least five years of professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in humanitarian assistance and international development.

Technical/Functional Skills
- Long-term experience in the development of and visualization of humanitarian response data sets;
- Knowledge of humanitarian information management functions and coordination mechanisms; experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data an asset;
- Experience related to development and/or maintenance of Management Information Systems, data processing, analysis and reporting.
- Relevant professional experience preferably in programme, analysis, reporting in humanitarian/ development work
- Good analytical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret information and draw out the key messages
- Strong written communication skills, demonstrated experience with multi-cultural teams
- Relevant IT skills including advanced knowledge of excel (GIS, vLookup, Power Query, Conditional Formatting, Advanced Charting, Pivot Tables, and Macros), experience combining excel with other applications like SQL Server and Power BI, and advanced knowledge of Power BI.
- Capacity to take initiative, and suggest modifications in the process
- Ability to plan, organize, implement and report
- Good communication, writing and presentation skills in English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of FAO’s core mandated areas an advantage.
