You have:

- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in aviation or airline operations is desirable.
- Working in passenger booking or passenger terminal counter is desirable.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
UNAMA is a political mission that provides political good offices in Afghanistan; works with and supports the government; supports the process of peace and reconciliation; monitors and promotes human rights and the protection of civilians in armed conflict; promotes good governance; and encourages regional cooperation.
UNAMA was established by the UN Security Council Resolution 1401 in March 2002 at the request of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Its mandate is reviewed annually with the latest mandate renewal being on 15 September 2020 when the Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2543 (2020) Resolution 2543 (2020) calls for UNAMA and the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, within their mandate and in a manner consistent with Afghan sovereignty, leadership and ownership, to continue to lead and coordinate international civilian efforts in full cooperation with the Government of Afghanistan. UNAMA maintains a permanent and extensive field presence across Afghanistan.
• Support the management of the electronic databases and ensure that all inputs are accurate and up to date. • Provide support to ensure that applicable aircraft documentation/certificates are valid and current. • Support the monitoring of agreed periods of aircraft non-availability due to maintenance and/or aircrew sickness and that valid maintenance/medical release certificates are provided. • Support the monitoring of the aircrew members' valid licenses and certificates and the requirements agreed in the applicable long-term aircraft charter agreements. • Responsible for monitoring and verifying the monthly aircrew attendance records. • Support to the monitoring and reporting of the consumption of aviation fuel. • Drafts aviation memos and facsimiles • Provide support to the responsible for monitoring that Aircraft Use Reports (AURs) are completed and submitted to UNHQ in accordance with the established procedures and deadlines. • Provide support to verify Aircraft Use Reports (AURs) for conformance and compliance with Air Tasking Orders (ATOs), satellite tracking data and radio logs. • Coordinates the provision of accommodation, meals and transportation arrangements for aircrew members and ground personnel in accordance with the established contractual conditions. • Provide support to assess cost estimates for aviation mission flights. • Processes various Aviation Reports. • Acts as liaison between TCU and Passenger Booking office. • Receives travel request of clients for inclusion in the Passenger Manifest. • Arranges the Final Passenger Manifest and publishes the information the day prior to the flight. • Support to the process and verification of passenger and cargo manifests. • Support to the process of UNAMA Domestic and International passenger flight manifests. • Verifies the Invoices and Financial Receipts and processes payments or cost recoveries. • Coordinates and arranges meetings and VTCs as required. • Performs other related duties as required.

Experience in processing invoices is required. Three (3)) years of progressively responsible experience in aviation or airline operations is desirable. Working in passenger booking or passenger terminal counter is desirable.
The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity, and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included ) and final repatriation (if applicable). Furthermore, in non-family duty stations that belong to hardship categories D or E, as classified by the ICSC, a Well-Being Differential (WBD) will be provided on a monthly basis.
