Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

To support UNICEF, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Adjara (MoECS) and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) in planning and organizing International ECE conference in June 2022

Scope of Work:

The consultancy envisions work in four main areas: (1) supporting MoECS in defining and planning the conference contents; (2) supporting the work of the scientific committee and ensuring effective coordination between the key stakeholders (MoECS, UNICEF, BSU, scientific committee), (3) leading active communication with potential national and international presenters; (4) supporting quality of conference sessions through proper organization/enhancement of conference contents.

  1. Supporting MoECS and UNICEF to define and plan the conference contents, timelines, communication strategy and other organizational issues; Ensuring effective coordination between the key stakeholders (MoECS, UNICEF, BSU, scientific committee)

  1. Supporting work of scientific committee (facilitating committee meetings, identifying and communicating with potential national and international presenters (academics, policy-makers, practitioners) for submission of abstracts under each strand; facilitating submissions review by the committee members)

At least three meetings held with the scientific committee; call for submissions announced; submissions reviewed and evaluated by the committee members

  1. Developing conference programme based on accepted submissions under the guidance of MoECS, UNICEF and the scientific committee; facilitating communication with accepted presenters for preparation works; communicating with invited keynote speakers.

  1. Supporting content-wise organization of the sessions to ensure quality and the coherence of each session (particularly the parallel sessions); supporting presenters in preparatory work, where necessary.

  1. Supporting communication with wider audience of ECEC community to attend the conference through online platform

Duration: 17.01.2022- 17.06.2022 (30 working days).

Location: Home based. Travel to Batumi twice (3 days for preparatory trip in May and the actual conference dates in June).

Minimum Qualifications required:

Education: Master’s degree in Education, Child Development and Psychology

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

-At least 3 years’ experience of working in early childhood education

-Experience in organizing/supporting or leading educational -conferences or fairs

-Experience in developing academic publications

-In-depth knowledge of ECEC field

-Excellent knowledge of English and Georgian

Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
