Organizational Setting

The Driver at the FAO Country Office is a critical team member responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for FAO staff and authorized personnel. Under the supervision of the an FAO Representative, the Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and secure movement of personnel and goods in support of FAO's activities.

Reporting Lines

National Driver will operate under the overall guidance and supervision of the FAO Representative in Tajikistan, direct supervision of FAO Technical Advisor and Coordinator, and in accordance with prevailing FAO Corporate policies and practices.

Technical Focus

As the National Driver at the FAO Tajikistan office, you will be a key member of the team responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation support. Your primary focus will be to ensure the timely and secure movement of FAO staff and authorized personnel to various locations in Tajikistan. Additionally, you will play an essential role in contributing to the smooth operation of FAO projects related to agriculture and food work by providing reliable transportation services.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Ensure provision of reliable and safe driving services to authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items; • Ensure that the Project official vehicle is at all time in sound mechanical condition, roadworthy and in a presentable state outwardly and inwardly as well as MOSS compliant; • Ensure that vehicle used solely and exclusively for official purposes. In this respect a specific log book is kept on board in every vehicle and pertinent data regularly recorded; • Keep track of fuel consumption and verifies it with the logbooks; • Whenever not in use official vehicles shall be parked within the designated secure parking; • Any related duties are performed as and when requested ; • Perform other related duties as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. • Valid and clean driver's license with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience. • Demonstrated safe driving record and excellent knowledge of local traffic rules and regulations. • Working knowledge of Russian and Tajik, English is an advantage. • National of Tajikistan.
