Result of Service The Digital Communications Consultant amongst other tasks, will:

- Produce up to five human stories that meets UN standards and donor’s requirement. The stories developed and submitted, need to highlight the needs and the how UN interventions are improving people’s lives. Each human story should be around 700-100 words and should be accompanied by 2-3 high resolution images. - Create content to develop and integrate different content types across a wide variety of outlets. - Prepare detailed event scenarios for public at large planned activities. - Produce of video footage of various UN system events, videos of UN Agencies documenting UN agencies work/projects. - Ensure the high quality of the photo/video materials suitable for printing, publishing and web / design purposes. - Ensure dignity of subjects, particularly in the context of children and vulnerable groups. UN applicable guidelines and policies will be provided upon contract signature. - Create content to develop and integrate different content types across a wide variety of outlets. - Prepare detailed event scenarios for public at large planned activities. - Design a wide range of graphic design maps, factsheets, infographics, and books by digital paint sketching or hand drawing techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities The Resident Coordinator System (RCS) encompasses all organizations of the UN system dealing with operational activities for development, regardless of their formal presence in the country. The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and the Government of Albania are in the first year of implementation of the new 5-year Albania-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2022-2026).

As UN places strong emphasis on online engagement, through virtual dialogues and social media, and it is now increasing these efforts in light of Covid-19. All these requires enhanced digital communication and increased visibility specifically through interactive content via social media and digital platforms.

In this context, the Resident Coordinator Office in Albania looking for a Digital Communications Consultant who will assist the office during the period of October – December 2022 in generating and delivering compelling content in social media and digital platforms related to the implementation of key communication priorities including, results reporting, SDG promotion, action for climate, UN Covid-19 Response and fighting misinformation, UN Days, international campaigns and initiatives, UN Country Team's events and others.

The Digital Communications Consultant will ensure effective and efficient provision of services, full confidentiality in all aspects of the assignment, management of information flow and follow-up on deadlines and commitments made, by abiding with the UN in Albania copyright rules and regulations.

Qualifications/special skills A first-level university degree (or equivalent) in journalism, marketing and communications, international development, social and political sciences or related field is required. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in one or combined areas of journalism, communications, marketing and social media management is required. Experience in maintaining social media accounts, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter is required. Knowledge and/or some demonstrable experience in graphic design, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in graphic design programmes, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva etc is desirable. Ability to take quality photographs and videos; and photo/video editing skills; Experience in developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online is desirable.

Languages English and French are the two working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening fluency in English and Albanian are required.
