- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with people
- Previous experience working with children and young people is preferred

The UNICEF Nepal Country Office works in partnership with national and local governments, civil society, mass media and other development partners to advocate for child rights in Nepal. For this purpose, the Office develops a range of communication materials. UNICEF would like to engage the services of /illustrators to develop creative, engaging and innovative visual content geared at the relevant audiences, for use in both digital and offline communication and advocacy materials. With prior briefing for each assignment, the illustrators are expected to submit high-resolution artwork – with versions for use on online platforms and print, where required
How can you make a difference?
The illustrators should be available at short notice, depending on the urgency of the assignment, and may be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Specific tasks:
- Conceptualize and develop custom illustrations and artworks for UNICEF’s digital platforms, print materials, and campaigns.
- Work in close coordination with the relevant section to finalize products, and ensure these are in keeping with UNICEF’s branding guidelines
Task:
- Submission of illustrations from each assignment. Number of illustrations to be submitted will be decided before the start of each assignment
- Support of art workshops with children
Duration: The duration of the contract will be under Long Term Arrangement for 11.5 months, tentatively starting from early September 2022
Deliverables:
- Required number of illustrations
- Number of workshops held
PAYMENT MODALITIES:
Payment for each assignment will be discussed and determined before it commences but the basis for discussion will be the cost/rate referred to in the contract when issued. Applicants should indicate their proposed professional fees when submitting applications - cost of illustration, cost of artwork etc.

- Two years of demonstrated experience in creating art/illustrations is preferred
- Knowledge in relevant software, including but not limited to: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with people
- Previous experience working with children and young people is preferred

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
