How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of Chief of Education a national consultant will develop audiovisual materials for the advocacy and awareness raising on the importance of the 21st century learning courses for adolescents and youths

Work Assignment:

1. Consultation with MOEYS and UNICEF about the 21st century skills courses and the production of the required advocacy materials including posters and vidoes and submit work schedule.

2.1 Develop content for the poster for the six courses: sanitary pads, handwashing, financial skills, vertical garden, climate change, food preservation. Content needs to be reviewed and approved prior to design.

2.2 Based on the content, design a poster on all courses in item

2.3 Finalize poster including layout design based on written feedback from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport and UNICEF

3.1 Review all six videos on each of the six courses including the sub-components.

3.2 Based on the review, develop scripts for the introductory or snapshot videos from each of the six courses. Total duration for each video will be a maximum of 2 minutes. Scripts must be reviewed and approved prior to editing.

3.3 Using available footage from the courses, edit and produce the introductory videos and finalize these based on feedback from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport and UNICEF

4.1 Interview students and teachers in Community Learning Center and develop a script for 3-5 videos on participants experiences for participants who have already completed these courses.

UNICEF will coordinate and organize the participants for the interview.

4.2 Shoot and edit the video based on the feedback from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport and UNICEF

4.3 Merge the videos from task 3 and task 4 as one package

Deliverables:

1. Detail work schedule submitted (1 day)

2. Final poster of all six courses developed and submitted (5 days)

3. Final six introductory or snapshot videos of six courses developed and finalized (15 days)

4. 3-5 minutes video on participants experiences produced and merged with videos from # 3 above with total of 3 – 5 minutes (10 days)

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor degree in communication or videography
  • Advanced skills in videography, graphic and video design including editing processes
  • Excellent coordination skills, and a willingness to follow instructions, work under pressure as part of team, or independently
  • Experience working with UNICEF would be an advantage
  • Language requirement: English and Tetun. Knowledge of other languages/dialects spoken in Timor-Leste would be an advantage
  • At least five years’ experience in video production and editing

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
  • The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
