Overview

Develop training manuals and conduct training for adolescent nutrition

You have:

  • Minimum bachelor degree in Nutrition, Public health or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in conducting adolescent-related nutrition interventions
  • Familiar with adolescent nutrition context and initiatives in Bangladesh
  • Proven experience in developing nutrition training manuals
  • Proven knowledge on community-based nutrition SBCC interventions
  • Should have proven experience in training of field-level staff
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Purpose of Assignment:

The manual developed will be used in Pekua and Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district, with the objective of scaling-up to other areas of Bangladesh. As Cox's Bazar is one of the districts in which the new Operational Guidelines are being implemented, the experiences with the training manuals will feed into national efforts. The consultancy will be funded by the European Union through the project. Building Resilience of Rohingya and Host Communities in Cox's Bazar.

Under the technical supervision of the Nutrition Officer, NOB, based in Dhaka, and in close collaboration with the NNS/IPHN, DSHE and NNS/IPHN in Cox's Bazar and Dhaka and UNICEF's nutrition section in Cox's Bazar, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Develop and submit a workplan for the completion of the assignment, in line with Terms of Reference
  • Conduct a desk review of existing materials and prepare an analysis report
  • Develop training package, for adolescents (peer to peer) using the available existing contents, including the methodology, the training outline and session's content
  • Support the testing of the training manual
  • Support the training of Trainers for adolescent club members (5 ToTs of 10 participants each)

Incumbent must have minimum bachelor degree in Nutrition, Public health or related field with below experiences:

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in conducting adolescent-related nutrition interventions
  • Familiar with adolescent nutrition context and initiatives in Bangladesh, including from the Government and development partners
  • Proven experience in developing nutrition training manuals
  • Proven knowledge on community-based nutrition SBCC interventions
  • Should have proven experience in training of field-level staff
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work effectively with wide range of stakeholders, including Government counterparts
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Remarks:

  • Consultant will work mainly in Dhaka but will have frequent travel to Cox's Bazar and will also be working with the technical supervisor
  • Terms of Payment: Payment will be made upon successful completion of each deliverable according to schedule
