Background: UNICEF Bangladesh aims to ensure disability inclusion in all its programmes and operations, and seeks to ensure that the needs and rights of children with disabilities are recognized in all of its agreements with implementing partners as well as in work with government counterparts. UNICEF Bangladesh is in a process of systematic inclusion of children with disabilities. To ensure the systematic inclusion, a Cross-sectoral Disability Inclusion Taskforce has been established. Each programme and operation sections have their long- and short-term plans on disability inclusion. The journey has made significant strides towards a disability inclusive country programme 2022-2026. An accessibility audit of all the UNICEF Bangladesh Country and Field office premises across the country have been conducted involving a group of different types of people with disabilities to understand the current accessibility situation and further actions to be taken. UNICEF Bangladesh is also a part of the United Nations Partnership for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) in Bangladesh, a joint UN programme for implementation of CRPD and disability inclusive SDGs.

Deliverable 5 B: Support and coordinate with sections to report on disability specific RAM indicators.

1 monthCoordination of the activities by UNICEF under UNPRPD programme that includes engagement with the Government in influencing policies and participation of persons with disabilities.

Deliverable 11: Donor report by Activity - due on 30 April 2023.

1 monthMinimum Qualifications/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

• Masters/An advanced University Degree in social sciences, psychology or inclusive education or other relevant area of study is required.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in the area of inclusion, accessibility and/or the promotion of the rights of people with disabilities.
• Technical knowledge in the area of coordination of multi sectoral works on disability inclusion including accessibility is required.
• Work directly for/with children with disabilities and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in policy analysis, capacity building of different stakeholders including Government committees, analytical report writing, documented in published documents.
• Fluency in English and Bangla is required.

Work Modality: Both Office & based

Travel/DSA: Will be paid at actual basis as per UNICEF Policy/Procedure, if applicable

Payment: Payment upon completion of each deliverable according to schedule and upon certification from supervisor
