UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

The immunization cold chain system needs a thorough technical assessment to ensure the provision of high-quality vaccination services. With the collaboration from government entities and relevant partners, UNICEF facilitated the execution of the Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) assessment in 2021. This comprehensive assessment was subsequently followed by the development of a comprehensive Improvement Plan (cIP), designed to address identified gaps and propose remedial measures. The cIP is a detailed plan which includes a spectrum of activities from the central, provincial, district, and health facility levels. It is important to consistently monitor and review the cIP progress vis-à-vis the planned activities to gauge the improvement. UNICEF has already secured resources dedicated to the ongoing monitoring of cIP advancement, which has been integrated into health section’s workplan. This important task needs the commitment of a dedicated individual to review the cIP implementation rate, validation of progress, and the submission of detailed report which will help future planning and reporting.
