Result of Service Ensured timely coordination of UN activities with government counterparts within UNSDCF implementation and facilitate UN work with governmental organizations.

  • Support to VNR process, organization of meetings and data collection;
  • Assist in data collection and liaising with other government entities;
  • Support to organize UNSDCF JSC meeting with endorse JWPs 2023-2026
  • Support to organize Annual Review meeting/Joint Steering Committee meeting to review Annual results for 2022.

Deliverable: VNR document is drafted and submitted to the GoT; Two JSC meetings conducted and ensured follow up.

  • Support the UN Agencies and other partners in VLR process in coordination with Ministry of Economic Development and Trade;
  • Support UN agencies missions’ meetings with the relevant government counterparts and organize events needed for briefings and other such informational events.

Deliverable: VLR process is launched and necessary support provided to coordinate activities; Supported UN Agencies missions and meetings.

  • Support to facilitate the work of the Result Groups and M&E Groups in the preparation of progress reports and reviews;
  • Support UN agencies missions’ meetings with the relevant government counterparts and organize events needed for briefings and other such informational events.

Deliverable: Highlights in the quarterly reports on the assistance provided to the various groups and results achieved; Supported UN Agencies missions and meetings.

Work Location Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Expected duration 40 days during March-December 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities The Development Coordinator will work under the guidance of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT).

The position is located in the premises of the MEDT. Specific responsibilities include: - Assist in implementation of UNSDCF and support in data gathering for Common Country Analysis (CCA); coordinate the collection, dissemination and submission of relevant information from/to government agencies; - Liaise with relevant state agencies to seek their feedback on programme proposals, work plans, progress. Facilitate UN missions, meetings and other events organized with Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and other government agencies. - Support to organize the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) meetings; prepare meeting minutes; ensure adequate follow up and action of the decisions made by the JSC. - Support the Results Groups, and the M&E Group in planning, reporting, and strengthening partnerships with the relevant government departments. - Support to coordinate joint consultations and formulation of annual reports and/or other programme updates. - Support the UN Agencies in VNR and VLR process in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Qualifications/special skills - University degree in Economics, Public and/or Business Administration, Management and other related fields; - At least 3 years’ development experience working with government agencies, private sector, international agencies, or civil society organizations is required; - Experience with UN System and other development partners is highly desirable; - At least 2 years of experience in management, coordination, and communication is required; - Understanding of UN System and familiar with Tajikistan’s development landscape including knowledge of the National Development Strategy 2016-2030 and SDGs 2030; - Computer literate.

Languages Fluency in Tajik is required. Knowledge of English and Russian is advantage.
