**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Education Sector (ED) Duty Station: Hanoi Job Family: Education Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : From 1 to 6 months Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 07-NOV-2021 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- UNESCO, in collaboration with the EMPS Project Management Board in the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and the Department of Teachers and Educational Administrators in the Ministry of Education and Training, implements the ‘We are ABLE’ project on Promoting Gender Equality and Girls’ Education in the Ethnic Minorities Areas in three provinces of Ha Giang, Ninh Thuan and Soc Trang. Within the framework of the project, a research study on the causes of community’s resistance to girls’ and women’s education among ethnic minority groups was conducted and a draft research report, including recommendations of policies and actions, was produced. UNESCO is looking for a national consultant to improve and refine the draft report with policy recommendations. Under the overall authority of the Head of UNESCO Office in Viet Nam and under the coordination of the Education Project Officer, the consultant shall be responsible for the production of an improved and refined research report with policy recommendations and actions. Specific tasks under this assignment include as follows: 1. Review the draft report and data collected from consultation meetings in Ha Giang, Ninh Thuan and Soc Trang by the project, and any other relevant reports, documents and publications; and 2. Produce an improved and refined research report with policy recommendations and actions in Vietnamese and English.
